KCGM regularly conducts research with the local community to obtain feedback on its operations. The company undertook a Community Attitude Assessment in 1999, three independent Social Impact Assessments, in 2004, 2007, 2010 and 2016, and a Community Perception Survey in 2013. The results of this research gives KCGM an indication of its social performance, key social impacts and the company’s management of them, determine key areas for improvement, and investigate perceptions of KCGM to help develop its community relations strategies. Social Impact Assessment September 2016
In the 2016 SIA, we look at changes which have occurred within the community between each study period, further investigate our potential impacts on the people of Kalgoorlie-Boulder and measure our performance in managing these impacts over time.
