Training and Development Superintendent

THE ROLE:

In this dynamic role, you will lead the Training and Development team in the delivery of timely, fit-for-purpose activities and initiatives to meet KCGM’s compliance obligations and enhance the company’s ability to attract, retain and develop talent. Your leadership will drive the improvement and professional growth of the site training function.

This role translates external requirements and internal standards into meaningful Training and Development deliverables and outcomes for KCGM, through the use of contemporary frameworks and concepts. As custodian for People Systems such as Performance Planning and Talent & Succession, you will ensure these are efficiently and effectively delivered. You will have ownership of KCGM’s apprenticeship program and play an important role in helping to develop future capability at KCGM.

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Training and Development Superintendent is a residential role, based at KCGM’s Fimiston site located adjacent to the City of Kalgoorlie-Boulder.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Tertiary Qualification in HR, related discipline or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of three years’ experience leading a technical / professional function
  • A demonstrated understanding of and experience with Australian Qualification Framework, adult learning principles and alternative learning strategies, including technologies
  • Experience in development of training plans and packages: from needs analysis through to effectiveness evaluation
  • Experience managing external training providers, including commercial negotiations
  • Strong computer skills, in all of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, preferred
  • Accreditation in a psychological preferences / styles tool such as Myers-Briggs, Insights® or LSI® would be highly desirable
  • National Police Clearance – valid within the last twelve (12) months
  • Current Unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Drivers Licence.

Human Resources Advisor (12 Months Fixed Term)

THE ROLE:

KCGM are looking for an experienced HR Generalist to provide Human Resource (HR) advice, services and support to our Supervisors and Employees to ensure best people management practices are maintained throughout the employee lifecycle; from recruitment and onboarding, to performance and promotion, employee and industrial relations through to end of employment.

Reporting to the HR Superintendent, this site based role is ideal for an HR professional who has experience in a diverse, dynamic and fast paced environment and can bring innovative thinking and flexibility to the role.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Tertiary qualification in human resources, industrial relations or a related discipline, or significant practical experience to an equivalent level
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a generalist human resource role
  • A sound understanding of industrial relations legislative frameworks
  • Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate and influence at all levels of the organisation
  • A strong understanding of the principles of confidentiality and business ethics
  • Able to be well organised and confident in handling a heavy workload and competing priorities

Underground Shift Supervisor

THE ROLE:

Working at Mt Charlotte Underground Mine, the Shift Supervisor will coordinate and assign the daily activities of all underground production personnel to ensure production targets are achieved in a safe and efficient manner. In this role you will fulfil all legislative requirements expected of an Underground Shift Supervisor under the Mine Safety Inspection Act (1994) and Regulations (1995).

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum five (5) years underground mining experience
  • Ideally, two (2) years’ experience in a supervisory role in a similarly sized operation or at foreman level within a larger operation
  • Have a demonstrated ability to react and diagnose problems to accurately identify and implement potential solutions in a timely manner
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills enabling liaison at all levels of the underground operation
  • Experience in coaching and performance management of team members to enhance team effectiveness
  • West Australian Shift Supervisors Certificate of Competency, essential
  • Dangerous Goods Clearance Card – required, West Australian Shotfirer’s Ticket – desirable
  • National Police Clearance – valid within the last twelve (12) months
  • Current Unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Drivers Licence.

Open Pit Mine Geologist

THE ROLE:

Working a residential, family friendly roster (9:5), the Open Pit Mine Geologist is responsible for delivering the maximum ore grade to the Mineral Processing Plant, through accurate identification of mineralisation, optimal ore classification and supervision of extraction (to minimise dilution).

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Tertiary qualification in Geology.
  • Minimum of 3 years mining industry experience, preferably gold, with exposure to mine geology, grade control practices and RC drilling.
  • Experience in an Open Pit mining environment, preferred.
  • Experience with 3D mining software, Vulcan preferred.
  • Knowledge of Geological Modelling, Geostatistics, QAQC and Mine to Mill Reconciliation, highly regarded.
  • Developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation.
  • Sound problem solving ability.
  • National Police Clearance – valid within the last twelve (12) months.
  • Current Unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Drivers Licence.

Underground Mechanical Fitter

THE ROLE:

Working a family-friendly roster, you will be responsible for undertaking preventative and breakdown maintenance of the underground mobile plant fleet to ensure maximum availability for production.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

These include scheduled maintenance of mobile plant to ensure availability of fleet, as indicated by the mining and maintenance schedules, as well as diagnosis and repair of mobile plant both in the workshop and in the field. Our fleet includes Toyota light vehicles, and CAT and Atlas Copco machinery.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Relevant Trade Qualifications
  • Post Trade experience in heavy duty fitting, preferably within an Underground Mining environment
  • Excellent planning, time management and organisational skills
  • National Police Clearance (valid within the last 12 months)
  • Current unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Drivers Licence.

Geotechnician

The Role:

An Exciting opportunity now exists to work alongside a dynamic team in the Mine Technical Services Department. This position will see you assisting in the collection and processing of geological samples to ensure the provision of timely and accurate data for analysis by Geologists.

 Requirements:

  • Preferably two (2) years’ experience working in Geotechnical or Geology support roles within Open Pit operations

Truck Operators - Underground

THE ROLE:

A unique opportunity now exists to join the underground team at Mt Charlotte. This position will see you operating a variety of mobile plant, establishing and maintaining underground services, as well as provide generic labouring assistance to ensure production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum six (6) months experience operating Underground Trucks (Atlas MT5010 preferred)
  • Exposure to the operation of Integrated Tool Carriers
  • Dangerous Goods Security Card

Working an even-time continuous 7/7 roster, this high profile position will see you transporting ore and waste from the Super Pit by operating large mobile equipment in a safe and efficient manner, to meet production targets.

Truck Operators - Crusher

Interested in  variety? This pivotal role will see you working in a fast paced and dynamic team environment.
