Shift Supervisor - Crusher

THE ROLE:

The Shift Supervisor at the Crusher will efficiently direct and monitor Crushing and Sticks activities in the Fimiston Open Pit and Processing Plant to ensure that production targets are achieved in a timely and safe manner within the guidelines of statutory requirements and KCGM standards. You will also Supervise and provide leadership to a team of Operators to maintain and improve performance and drive a positive workplace culture.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of five (5) years working in the Mining Industry – experience in Crusher Operations is preferred
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills enabling effective communication at all levels of the organisation
  • Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills
  • Sound leadership skills, including the ability to coach, train, and influence the behaviour of others

Projects Manager (12 Month Fixed Term)

THE ROLE:

The Projects Manager directly manages the KCGM Throughput Optimisation Project and other Full Potential Projects identified by the Mineral Processing Department team. In this role you will coordinate and oversee assigned projects to ensure the attainment of intended objectives within established procedures, budget and scheduling constraints. You will undertake the direct supervision and coordination of external contractors to ensure work is conducted in line with contractor management policies and to required standards, and assist in the tender, review and award of contracts to ensure project scope is accurately defined and contractual agreements are in line with site requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a similar role within the resources sector
  • Bachelor of Engineering/Metallurgy or relevant experience
  • Experience in a large scale mineral processing plant upgrade
  • Proficiency in reading mechanical and civil/structural drawings
  • Sound analytical skills and the ability to think laterally
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills enabling liaison at all levels of the organisation
  • Ability to diagnose problems and identify potential solutions by thinking outside of the box delivering alternative outcomes
  • Familiarity with relevant Australian Standards, Mines Safety and Inspection Regulations (MSIR)National Police Clearance – valid within the last twelve (12) months

Communication Technician

THE ROLE:

In this role, you will undertake routine and breakdown maintenance on a range of communication systems and equipment within the Open Pit mining area to support the provision of fully functional dispatch, communications and reporting systems that meet production requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation
  • Highly developed computer literacy, in particular, Microsoft Excel
  • Developed Information Technology networking skills
  • Certificate III in Radio Communications / Electronic Servicing or other relevant discipline and/or experience
  • Literacy in Wenco Dispatch Systems, Motorola Mesh and Canopy Systems, is preferable
  • Experience with Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, is preferable

Open Pit Mine Geologist (24 Month Fixed Term)

THE ROLE:

Working a residential, family friendly roster (9:5), the Open Pit Mine Geologist is responsible for delivering the maximum ore grade to the Mineral Processing Plant, through accurate identification of mineralisation, optimal ore classification and supervision of extraction (to minimise dilution). This includes undertaking analysis, interpretation and modelling of data, including drill samples, resource definition plans and voids in order to accurately locate ore bodies and individual probe locations for the subsequent redevelopment and implementation of dig plans.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Tertiary qualification in Geology or a related discipline
  • Recent Geology graduates looking to start their career in the mining industry are encouraged to apply
  • Experience in an Open Pit mining environment, preferred
  • Experience with 3D mining software, preferred
  • Developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation

Reliability Engineer – Mobile Maintenance

THE ROLE:

The role of the Reliability Engineer is to improve the overall performance of KCGM’s mining fleet – including asset reliability, fleet availability, cost and equipment performance. You will manage the mining fleet Defect Elimination program, conduct failure investigations and coordinate equipment improvement projects for the mobile fleet.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor degree or trade qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Minimum three (3) years reliability engineering experience preferably with heavy mobile equipment
  • Strong understanding of engineering theories and applications are essential
  • Advanced Excel skillsls required for data analysis
  • Ability to diagnose problems and identify potential solutions by thinking outside of the box

Senior Shutdown Planner

The Role:

The Senior Shutdown Planner: Oversees the activities of the shutdown planners and ensures that all maintenance activities undertaken within the plant shutdowns are properly planned (resources, parts, equipment, tooling), sequenced and scheduled so that the work progresses in a safe, organised, timely and cost efficient manner.

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Proactively promote compliance to KCGM safety and environment policies
  • Initiate and manage the shutdown planning and preparation process
  • Ensure quality communications throughout the shutdown planning and execution process.
  • Ensure people are clear about their shutdown roles and responsibilities.
  • Monitor and manage Contractor performance to ensure intended work standards and expectations are met
  • Assist with the preparation of shutdown budgets
  • Liaise with other departments and external service providers to ensure cost effective management of shutdown resources
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of shutdown reports
  • Manage shutdown performance reporting and promote continuous improvement

Requirements:

  • Five (5) years practical experience in a maintenance environment, preferably in mining/minerals processing
  • Minimum of Two (2) years’ experience with computer-based maintenance planning and scheduling
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical) or Trade qualification with relevant experience
  • Ability to diagnose problems and identify potential solutions by thinking outside of the box, delivering alternative outcomes
  • MS Office Suite (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, MS Outlook)
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure.

Maintenance Supervisor - Mobile Fleet

THE ROLE:

Responsible for the maintenance of the open pit hauling and ancillary fleet, the Maintenance Supervisor will manage the maintenance contract in order to meet budget equipment availability, reliability and costs in a safe, timely and environmentally responsible manner.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in maintenance roles within a mining or heavy industrial environment, including at least five (5) years at supervisor level
  • A tertiary qualification (minimum degree level) in Engineering (mechanical or electrical preferred); or a relevant trade qualification accompanied by at least ten (10) years’ experience, including at least five (5) years in a workshop management role
  • Experience in asset and contracts management
  • Excellent computer skills in Word, Excel and Project, and experience in the use of modern maintenance databases
  • Experience leading large teams, including the capacity to motivate, mentor and influence others
  • Experience in budgeting, financial analysis and cost management
  • Experience within a mining or heavy industrial environment
  • Experience in planning and scheduling

Crew Trainer - Underground

The Role:

The role of Crew Trainer is a core operational support role that is directly responsible for the training, development and maintenance of skill sets of operators within the Mount Charlotte Production Crews.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a training role preferably with five (5) years of operating experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in an Underground environment
  • Intermediate skills in PowerPoint, Word and Excel
  • Nationally accredited Workplace Training and Assessment qualification

Emergency Response Officer

THE ROLE:

In this exciting residential role, you will be responsible for providing an emergency response function to KCGM, by ensuring the provision and availability of emergency equipment and competently trained emergency response personnel. Key to this is supporting the implementation and ongoing maintenance of KCGM’s Emergency Management system, as well as organising, delivering and participating in the provision of emergency response training to KCGM Emergency Response Team members.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum two (2) years practical experience in emergency preparedness and response
  • Proven supervisory and leadership skills in an operational environment
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organisation as well as external parties
  • Qualified in closed circuit breathing apparatus and knowledge of underground search and rescue
  • Certificate III in Mines Emergency Response and Rescue, Certificate III in Public Safety (Firefighting operations), Certificate IV Workplace Training and Assessing, Certificate II Medical Service First Response are all desirable for this positon
  • National Police Clearance – valid within the last twelve (12) months
  • Current Unencumbered Western Australian “MR” Class Drivers Licence.

THE ROLE:

An opportunity exists to join the KCGM Team in the position of Security First Aid Officer in the Occupational Health and Safety Department. This position will see the successful candidate performing Security, First Aid and Emergency Response duties to meet legal and moral responsibilities for KCGM in a safe and timely manner.

Exploration Geotechnician

THE ROLE:

An exciting permanent opportunity now exists to work alongside a dynamic team in the Mine Technical Services Department. This position will see you assisting in the collection and processing of geological samples to ensure the provision of timely and accurate data for analysis by Geologists.

REQUIREMENTS:

Experienced Shovel Operators

The Role:

Working an even-time continuous 7/7 roster, you will be responsible for effectively and safely operating a Komatsu PC8000 shovel, as well as other mobile plant as directed, to ensure targets outlined in the Open Pit mining schedule are achieved.

Requirements:

  • Minimum five (5) years all round open pit ancillary operating experience
  • Minimum two (2) years shovel (five hundred (500) tonnes) operating experience, for example, Komatsu PC8000

Truck Operators - Crusher

Interested in  variety? This pivotal role will see you working in a fast paced and dynamic team environment.   • Ability to follow instructions safely and efficiently
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Be willing to apply for West Australian Dangerous Goods Security Card
  • Provide a National Police Clearance (valid within the last 12 months)
  • Hold a current unencumbered West Australian ‘MR’ class Drivers Licence.
  • Previous experience working in an industrial/labour intensive working environment highly regarded

Process Technicians

The Role:

KCGM are looking for experienced Process Technicians to join our Mineral Processing team. Working a 4/4 roster, this position will see you monitoring and maintaining assigned operations and equipment within the Mineral Processing Plant to optimise circuit availability and gold recovery.

Essential Requirements:

  • A minimum of one (1) year experience in a similar position
  • Experience within the mining industry
  • Intermediate computer literacy
  • National Police Clearance (valid within last 12 months)
  • Current Unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Drivers Licence.
