Load and Haul Superintendent

THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Manager of Mining – Open Pits, the Load and Haul Superintendent provides leadership to the Open Pit Production (Load and Haul) Team. A member of the Senior Leadership Team, this role ensures all production teams are performing optimally and that the maintenance of stockpiles and achievement of total material movement is achieved according to the Mine Plan in a coordinated, cost effective, timely and safe manner.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years open pits hard rock mining experience, including at least eight (8) years at a senior leadership level in a medium to large operation
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose problems and identify potential solutions by strategically thinking
  • Sound knowledge of the Mines Act and Regulations
  • Experience in performance management of team members enhancing team self-esteem using ability to coach, mentor and influence others, and the ability to build a strong performing team
  • Experience in budgeting, financial analysis, cost management
  • Current Unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Drivers Licence
  • National Police Clearance – valid within the last twelve (12) months
  • Current Quarry Managers Certificate (Highly desired)

Security First Aid Officer

THE ROLE:

An opportunity exists to join the KCGM Team in the position of Security First Aid Officer in the Occupational Health and Safety Department. This position will see the successful candidate performing Security, First Aid and Emergency Response duties to meet legal and moral responsibilities for KCGM in a safe and timely manner.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous Mining Security or Gatehouse operations experience
  • Previous First Aid Centre experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate calmly and with integrity in difficult or potential for conflict situations
  • Occupational First Aid Certificate

Voids Technician

THE ROLE:

An opportunity exists to join the Mining Team in the position of Voids Technician. This technical support role involves working as part of a team to identify void areas to ensure that the hazards associated with remnant mining are managed and work is completed in safe manner.

This role is suitable for someone with no prior experience with good analytical skills who is looking for an opportunity to learn, grow and contribute to a team who play a unique and crucial part of production in the Superpit.

REQUIREMENTS:

Essential

  • Proven organisational and planning abilities
  • Computer literacy
  • National Police Clearance (valid within the last 12 months)
  • Current Unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Drivers Licence.

Preferable

  • Experience working in an Open Pit or Underground environment
  • Working at Heights Accreditation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Exposure to Mining software.

Exploration Geologist

THE ROLE:

Working a residential, family friendly roster the successful candidate will assist the Mine Technical Services Team conduct geological exploration that adds value to existing resources, locating the next viable ore bodies, and extending the KCGM Life of Mine.

This role has a focus upon execution of exploration programs and accurate, efficient geological data collection.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Tertiary qualification in Geology or a related discipline
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Graduate Geologist in a hard rock environment
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Experience in 3D modelling software (Leapfrog or Vulcan)
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative
  • Developed interpersonal and communication skills

Senior Integrity Engineer

THE ROLE:

Leads a team in the execution of civil, or Integrity projects associated with capital and non capital related projects from initial concept development and feasibility analysis, through to construction and close out. Ensure all design work is reviewed prior to rectification or construction, and that the integrity works and classified equipment, conforms to all statutory standards and specifications.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Civil & Structural)
  • Minimum two (5) years’ experience in a similar role within the resources sector
  • Advanced computer literacy, in particular all aspects of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of structural analysis and design software e.g. Space GASS, Microstran, SAP 2000
  • Proficiency in reading mechanical and civil/structural drawings
  • Experience in performance management of team members to ensure a high performing team culture through coaching, mentoring and influencing
  • Ability to diagnose problems and identify potential solutions by thinking outside of the box delivering alternative outcomes
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills enabling liaison at all levels of the organisation
  • Sound knowledge of repair methods for structural steel works and concrete
  • Knowledge of classified plant and statutory requirements

THE ROLE:

A residential opportunity exists for a Senior Reliability Engineer to lead in the day to day coordination of the reliability and maintenance engineering team for fixed plant at KCGM.  Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:

Reliability Engineer

THE ROLE:

In this residential role, you will provide reliability engineering support in driving improvements in plant performance through optimising asset strategies and tactics, whilst undertaking a program of ongoing defect elimination. This includes the support of informed decision-making based on reliability and availability information, through detailed analysis including undertaking failure investigations and establishing the root causes of failure.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) or significant practical experience to an equivalent level
  • Strong understanding of reliability engineering principles and practices is essential
  • Minimum three (3) years field-based reliability experience
  • Experience in mineral processing environment or similar
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to diagnose problems and identify potential solutions by thinking outside of the box and delivering alternative options
  • Experience in conducting investigations through the application of a structured process such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA) in cross-functional team-based environments
  • Ability to work under pressure with conflicting priorities
  • National Police Clearance – valid within the last twelve (12) months
  • Current Unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Drivers Licence.

Integrity Engineer

THE ROLE:

An opportunity exists to join KCGM as an Integrity Engineer in this rewarding residential position. This role is responsible for assisting the Integrity team by providing technical support and engineering input to the planning and execution of the site wide Integrity Programs at KCGM.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor qualification in Civil and/or Structural Engineering
  • Minimum of five (5) years practical Integrity Engineering working in highly corrosive environments within heavy industry and or civil and structures project work
  • Knowledge of corrosion technology and civil/structural repair methods
  • Good competency in civil and structural analysis and design
  • Practical skills of Project Management and knowledge of up-to-date project management tool and techniques
  • Ability to read and understand structural and mechanical drawings
  • Advanced level competency in using Microsoft Suite, MS Project, structural analysis software such as Space Gass and maintenance management systems such as SAP or Oracle
  • Knowledge of Tanks structural analysis and repair methods would be advantageous
  • Familiarity with relevant Australian and International Standards
  • Sound analytical skills and the ability to think laterally
  • Ability to work well under pressure with can-do attitude
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills enabling liaison at all levels of the organisation

Underground Auto Electrician

THE ROLE:

In this role you will perform preventative and break-down auto electrical maintenance of the underground mobile plant fleet to ensure maximum availability for production. This involves scheduled maintenance of mobile plant to ensure ongoing availability of fleet for both day and night shift operators, as well as diagnosis and repairs of auto electrical faults of mobile plant, both in the workshop and in the field. Our fleet includes Toyota light vehicles, and CAT and Atlas Copco machinery.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum five (5) years post trade experience in the auto electrical field
  • Auto electrical experience with underground mining equipment
  • Certificate III in Automotive Electrical
  • A strong commitment to safety and a continuous improvement culture.
  • Ability to work independently, yet within a team environment.

THE ROLE:

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Tertiary qualification in human resources, industrial relations or a related discipline, or significant practical experience to an equivalent level
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a generalist human resource role
