Load and Haul Superintendent

THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Manager of Mining – Open Pits, the Load and Haul Superintendent provides leadership to the Open Pit Production (Load and Haul) Team. A member of the Senior Leadership Team, this role ensures all production teams are performing optimally and that the maintenance of stockpiles and achievement of total material movement is achieved according to the Mine Plan in a coordinated, cost effective, timely and safe manner.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years open pits hard rock mining experience, including at least eight (8) years at a senior leadership level in a medium to large operation
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose problems and identify potential solutions by strategically thinking
  • Sound knowledge of the Mines Act and Regulations
  • Experience in performance management of team members enhancing team self-esteem using ability to coach, mentor and influence others, and the ability to build a strong performing team
  • Experience in budgeting, financial analysis, cost management
  • Current Unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Drivers Licence
  • National Police Clearance – valid within the last twelve (12) months
  • Current Quarry Managers Certificate (Highly desired)

Voids Technician

THE ROLE:

An opportunity exists to join the Mining Team in the position of Voids Technician. This technical support role involves working as part of a team to identify void areas to ensure that the hazards associated with remnant mining are managed and work is completed in safe manner.

This role is suitable for someone with no prior experience with good analytical skills who is looking for an opportunity to learn, grow and contribute to a team who play a unique and crucial part of production in the Superpit.

REQUIREMENTS:

Essential

  • Proven organisational and planning abilities
  • Computer literacy

Preferable

Exploration Geologist

THE ROLE:

Working a residential, family friendly roster the successful candidate will assist the Mine Technical Services Team conduct geological exploration that adds value to existing resources, locating the next viable ore bodies, and extending the KCGM Life of Mine.

This role has a focus upon execution of exploration programs and accurate, efficient geological data collection.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Tertiary qualification in Geology or a related discipline
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Graduate Geologist in a hard rock environment
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Experience in 3D modelling software (Leapfrog or Vulcan)
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with the ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative
  • Developed interpersonal and communication skills

Open Pit Mine Geologist

THE ROLE:

Working a residential, family friendly roster (9:5), the Open Pit Mine Geologist is responsible for delivering the optimal ore grade to the Mineral Processing Plant, through accurate identification of mineralisation, delineation of ore blocks, and supervision of extraction to minimise dilution. This includes the scheduling and supervision of RC drilling and sampling programs, interpretation and modelling of the resulting data, and providing technical support to the operational team during mining.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Tertiary qualification in Geology
  • Recent Geology graduates looking to start their career in the mining industry are encouraged to apply
  • Experience in an Open Pit mining environment, preferred
  • Experience with 3D mining software, preferred

Senior Reliability Engineer

THE ROLE:

A residential opportunity exists for a Senior Reliability Engineer to lead in the day to day coordination of the reliability and maintenance engineering team for fixed plant at KCGM.  Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to the following:

Reliability Engineer

THE ROLE:

In this residential role, you will provide reliability engineering support in driving improvements in plant performance through optimising asset strategies and tactics, whilst undertaking a program of ongoing defect elimination. This includes the support of informed decision-making based on reliability and availability information, through detailed analysis including undertaking failure investigations and establishing the root causes of failure.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) or significant practical experience to an equivalent level
  • Strong understanding of reliability engineering principles and practices is essential
  • Minimum three (3) years field-based reliability experience
  • Experience in mineral processing environment or similar
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to diagnose problems and identify potential solutions by thinking outside of the box and delivering alternative options
  • Experience in conducting investigations through the application of a structured process such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA) in cross-functional team-based environments
  • Ability to work under pressure with conflicting priorities

Integrity Engineer

THE ROLE:

An opportunity exists to join KCGM as an Integrity Engineer in this rewarding residential position. This role is responsible for assisting the Integrity team by providing technical support and engineering input to the planning and execution of the site wide Integrity Programs at KCGM.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor qualification in Civil and/or Structural Engineering
  • Minimum of five (5) years practical Integrity Engineering working in highly corrosive environments within heavy industry and or civil and structures project work
  • Knowledge of corrosion technology and civil/structural repair methods
  • Good competency in civil and structural analysis and design
  • Practical skills of Project Management and knowledge of up-to-date project management tool and techniques
  • Ability to read and understand structural and mechanical drawings
  • Advanced level competency in using Microsoft Suite, MS Project, structural analysis software such as Space Gass and maintenance management systems such as SAP or Oracle
  • Knowledge of Tanks structural analysis and repair methods would be advantageous
  • Familiarity with relevant Australian and International Standards
  • Sound analytical skills and the ability to think laterally
  • Ability to work well under pressure with can-do attitude
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills enabling liaison at all levels of the organisation

THE ROLE:

Working at the world famous Super Pit, the Loading and Ancillary Supervisor efficiently directs and monitors Loading and Ancillary equipment activities to ensure that production targets are achieved in a timely and safe manner within the guidelines of statutory requirements and KCGM standards.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of ten (10) years’ experience including operation of machinery in an open pit mine or quarry. Including a minimum of two (2) years in a leading hand role in a similar sized operation

Underground Auto Electrician

THE ROLE:

In this role you will perform preventative and break-down auto electrical maintenance of the underground mobile plant fleet to ensure maximum availability for production. This involves scheduled maintenance of mobile plant to ensure ongoing availability of fleet for both day and night shift operators, as well as diagnosis and repairs of auto electrical faults of mobile plant, both in the workshop and in the field. Our fleet includes Toyota light vehicles, and CAT and Atlas Copco machinery.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum five (5) years post trade experience in the auto electrical field
  • Auto electrical experience with underground mining equipment
  • Certificate III in Automotive Electrical
  • A strong commitment to safety and a continuous improvement culture.

Project Resource Development Geologist – Mt Charlotte

THE ROLE:

The major focus of the Project Resource Development Geologist is on systematically identifying, testing and modelling potentially economic near-mine underground resources. You will prepare reports, identify trends and be involved in budget forecasting. This is a residential position based in Kalgoorlie working a family friendly 5:2 roster.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A tertiary qualification (minimum degree level) in geology
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience as a geologist, with at least three (3) years in a mine geology environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in sampling, Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QAQC), resource development and reconciliation
  • Experience with Contractor Management (analytical assay and drilling)
  • Excellent report writing and presentation skills
  • Experience in Vulcan, Leapfog and / or Datamine
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Well-developed leadership and communication skills
  • AUSIMM or AIG membership preferred

Maintenance Technician – Electrician

THE ROLE:

An exciting opening is now available for an enthusiastic Electrician to join our Site Services Team. This essential position will see you carrying out scheduled and breakdown electrical maintenance and installation work, as required for the KCGM sites or Borefields area maintaining safety, and ensuring optimum operating conditions.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of two (2) years electrical maintenance experience.
  • Australian Electrical Licence and/or endorsed Electrical Fitter/Electrician qualification.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in Telemetry Control Systems.
  • Intermediate computer skills, in particular Microsoft Office, Word.
  • Experience in the generation and recording of Work Orders.

Security First Aid Officer - Day Shift

THE ROLE:

An opportunity exists to join the KCGM Team in the position of Security First Aid Officer in the Occupational Health and Safety Department. Working a family friendly 5:2 roster, this position will see the successful candidate performing Security, First Aid and Emergency Response duties to meet legal and moral responsibilities for KCGM in a safe and timely manner.

  • Previous Mining Security or Gatehouse operations experience with previous First Aid Centre experience.

 Essential Requirements:

  • A minimum of 6 months experience operating CAT 777’s in a mining environment
  • Well-developed communication skills
  • National Police Clearance (valid within the last 12 months)
  • A current unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Drivers Licence.

Truck Operators - Crusher

Process Technicians

The Role:

KCGM are looking for experienced Process Technicians to join our Mineral Processing team. Working a 4/4 roster, this position will see you monitoring and maintaining assigned operations and equipment within the Mineral Processing Plant to optimise circuit availability and gold recovery.

Essential Requirements:

  • A minimum of one (1) year experience in a similar position
  • Experience within the mining industry
  • Intermediate computer literacy
  • National Police Clearance (valid within last 12 months)
  • Current Unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Drivers Licence.
