Purchasing Officer

THE ROLE:

The main objective of the Purchasing Officer role is to conduct the purchasing at KCGM, to ensure all goods and services are purchased on time and to the correct specification to meet internal customer requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Extensive experience in a similar position, ideally within the resources sector
  • Experience in engaging in the negotiation process within a commercial setting, resulting in the attainment of favourable outcomes
  • Intermediate level of skill in the Microsoft Office suite, namely Word and Excel
  • Excellent time management, organisational and analytical skills within a commercial setting

Senior Maintenance Planner

THE ROLE:

The Senior Maintenance Planner leads the team of planners and schedulers from fixed plants at Fimiston & Gidgi, and the Site Services area. This role ensures that all maintenance activities undertaken within the plant are properly planned (resources, parts, equipment, tooling), sequenced and scheduled so that the work progresses in a safe, organised, timely and cost efficient manner and that plant is maintained to statutory and legislative requirements and KCGM standards.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Ensure CMMS work flow management is followed to enable safe work practices to minimize the risk associated and to comply with statutory obligations
  • Coordinate priorities of Maintenance Planners to ensure work flow process is maintained to enable plant availability to run at optimal level
  • Monitor maintenance and analysing of maintenance systems to enable the quality of work to be measured and assessed against the maintenance plan, reporting on any variance to plan
  • Ensure all requirements of the maintenance plan are achieved within budget and forecast timetables are adhered to and accurate
  • Development and implementation of strategies of CMMS moving forward ensuring that data entry in the CMMS system is maintained to KCGM standards and procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of eight (8) years in the mining or heavy industry with strong working knowledge of Maintenance Planning and CMMS with minimum of two (2) years in a similar role
  • Experience in Oracle EAM modules and Viziya Planning tools
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose problems and identify potential solutions by thinking outside of the box to deliver alternative outcomes
  • Experience in performance management of team members enhancing team self esteem using ability to coach, mentor and influence others.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills enabling liaison at all levels of the organisation
  • Mechanical or Electrical Trade Certificate (as relevant) or Degree in Engineering
  • National Police Clearance – valid within the last twelve (12) months

Reliability Engineer

THE ROLE:

In this residential role, you will provide reliability engineering support in driving improvements in plant performance through optimising asset strategies and tactics, whilst undertaking a program of ongoing defect elimination.  This includes the support of informed decision-making based on reliability and availability information, through detailed analysis including undertaking failure investigations and establishing the root causes of failure.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or significant practical experience to an equivalent level
  • Strong understanding of reliability engineering principles and practices is essential
  • Minimum three (3) years field-based reliability experience
  • Experience in mineral processing environment or similar
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to diagnose problems and identify potential solutions by thinking outside of the box and delivering alternative options
  • Experience in conducting investigations through the application of a structured process such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA) in cross-functional team-based environments

Training Supervisor

THE ROLE:

An opportunity exists to join KCGM in the position of Training Supervisor working with the Supervisory team in the Superpit. This pivotal position is responsible for the coordination of the training and development of the machinery operators to ensure they are competent to operate equipment to KCGM production and safety standards.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Five (5) years’ experience in an Open Pit environment and/or extensive experience with similar large mobile equipment
  • Experience in a training position, with at least two years in a training supervisory position, with proven experience in successful mentoring and training
  • Strong commitment to safety and a continuous improvement culture
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team whilst prioritising a high pressure work load
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment

Systems Administrator

THE ROLE:

This role will see you responsible for providing the technical maintenance and support required to achieve high availability, maximum effectiveness, strong security and robust recovery of KCGM’s primary and secondary infrastructure systems and support Service Desk staff in the delivery of high quality incident and request resolution services.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitoring, maintaining and expanding KCGM’s internal network, servers, desktops, VOIP systems, UPSs and related infrastructure
  • Planning, upgrading and deploying new software as required by the business
  • Managing, maintaining and testing of data backup procedures and disaster recovery plans
  • Documenting issues and resolutions
  • Providing end user support for multiple business units
  • Proactive in suggesting improvements to IT systems.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

A minimum of five (5) years’ experience within a similar role

  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service
  • Ability to work in a team based environment
  • Current Unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Drivers Licence.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Windows Server, Active Directory and Group Policy, VMware, Microsoft Exchange;

Geotechnician

THE ROLE:

An Exciting opportunity now exists to work alongside a dynamic team in the Mine Technical Services Department. This position will see you assisting in the collection and processing of geological samples to ensure the provision of timely and accurate data for analysis by Geologists.

This role is an ideal entry level role for a recent Geology graduate looking to start their career in the mining industry.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Preferably, two (2) years’ experience working in Geotechnical or Geology support roles within Open Pit operations

Maintenance Administrator

THE ROLE:

Working a residential, family friendly roster (5:2), the successful candidate will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Plant Maintenance Superintendent and the maintenance teams to maintain an efficient, effective and professional administrative support function. In addition to general office administration duties, tasks include processing and reconciling timecards, administering site entry processes for visitors and new contractors and raising purchase orders for labour and equipment hire and safety clothing and equipment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of 3 years office administration and / or reception roles
  • Computer literacy, including intermediate skills in the use of Microsoft Word
  • Proven organisational and planning abilities
  • Exposure to Oracle or similar supply based software preferred
  • Experience in a mining or heavy industrial environment highly regarded

Communication Technician

THE ROLE:

In this role, you will undertake routine and breakdown maintenance on a range of communication systems and equipment within the Open Pit mining area to support the provision of fully functional dispatch, communications and reporting systems that meet production requirements.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation
  • Highly developed computer literacy, in particular, Microsoft Excel
  • Developed Information Technology networking skills
  • Certificate III in Radio Communications / Electronic Servicing or other relevant discipline and/or experience
  • Literacy in Wenco Dispatch Systems, Motorola Mesh and Canopy Systems, is preferable

Senior Shutdown Planner

The Role:

The Senior Shutdown Planner: Oversees the activities of the shutdown planners and ensures that all maintenance activities undertaken within the plant shutdowns are properly planned (resources, parts, equipment, tooling), sequenced and scheduled so that the work progresses in a safe, organised, timely and cost efficient manner.

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Proactively promote compliance to KCGM safety and environment policies
  • Initiate and manage the shutdown planning and preparation process
  • Ensure quality communications throughout the shutdown planning and execution process.
  • Ensure people are clear about their shutdown roles and responsibilities.
  • Monitor and manage Contractor performance to ensure intended work standards and expectations are met
  • Assist with the preparation of shutdown budgets
  • Liaise with other departments and external service providers to ensure cost effective management of shutdown resources
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of shutdown reports
  • Manage shutdown performance reporting and promote continuous improvement

Requirements:

  • Five (5) years practical experience in a maintenance environment, preferably in mining/minerals processing
  • Minimum of Two (2) years’ experience with computer-based maintenance planning and scheduling
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical) or Trade qualification with relevant experience
  • Ability to diagnose problems and identify potential solutions by thinking outside of the box, delivering alternative outcomes
  • MS Office Suite (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Project, MS Outlook)
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels with excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure.

Truck Operators - Load and Haul

The Role:

Working an even-time continuous 7/7 roster, this high profile position will see you transporting ore and waste from the Super Pit by operating large mobile equipment in a safe and efficient manner, to meet production targets.

 Essential Requirements:

Process Technicians

The Role:

KCGM are looking for experienced Process Technicians to join our Mineral Processing team. Working a 4/4 roster, this position will see you monitoring and maintaining assigned operations and equipment within the Mineral Processing Plant to optimise circuit availability and gold recovery.
