Human Resources Administration Officer (12 Months Fixed Term)

The Role:

A stellar opportunity exists for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Professional to perform a pivotal support role in a dynamic team.

Underground Drill and Blast Engineer

The Role:

In this role, you will generate, schedule and implement short term Drilling, Blasting and ancillary mine plans to achieve the operational plan in a safe and cost effective manner. This involves co-ordinating production activities with Underground Mine Foreman to safely achieve production plans, and providing technical support to Underground Supervisors and crew members.

The role also includes daily and weekly data management for reporting purposes and stocktake management of production drill and blast consumables to ensure the operation is provided with the tools and resources to maintain the safe underground production.

Requirements:

  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in a similar underground position
  • Bachelor of Mining or Engineering (Mining)
  • Advanced level in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience in mine design software, however, Vulcan is the preferred software package
  • Experience in a production engineering related role with exposure to underground ventilation
  • Western Australian Underground Supervisors Certificate of competency, or the ability to attain the certificate, preferred
  • Dangerous Goods Security Card or proof of application, preferred
  • National Police Clearance – valid within the last twelve (12) months
  • Current Unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Drivers Licence.

Projects Controller

The Role:

Provide project control services to the Projects and Engineering Superintendent and Project Managers in implementation of projects and timely issuance of project control deliverables & progress reports; inclusive of providing guidance to project managers/engineers to plan, monitor, and control the execution of the project within the time and budgetary parameters.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering Disciplines, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or equivalent
  • Previous experience as a Project Engineer/Manager for a minimum of three (3)years with subsequent experience in a projects controller position or similar for a minimum of five (5) years
  • Experience in the full project cycle is a must (Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring and Closeout)
  • Proven project financial management experience (to include budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis) preferably in a project-based organization
  • Possess working knowledge of contracts administration and pricing.
  • Demonstrated excellent familiarity with the practical applications of personal computers and basic application software (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.)
  • Advanced level in MS Project/Primavera or a related project program will be advantageous

Mechanical Engineer

The role:

An exciting residential opportunity exists for a Mechanical Engineer to provide support to the Assets Department. Reporting to the Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be require to deliver high volume of CAPEX/OPEX project assignments (<10M) from conception to handover. You will be fully accountable to ensure that all project activities are performed to the prescribed project management framework.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure conformance with the KCGM Core Values, Vital Behaviours, Code of Conduct and relevant statutory obligation with prime commitment to health, safety, environment responsibilities and sustainable development.
  • Managing multiple concurrent multidiscipline engineering projects, key activities will include delivering business case, phase studies, scopes, tender process, engineering design, mobilisation, execution and commissioning including preparation of all relevant project management deliverables.
  • Experience in Project management, budgeting & forecasting and preparation for Applications for Expenditure (AFEs). Develops the appropriate project cycle analysis (Cost, schedule, risk) to suit decision being considered.
  • Abilities to engage and influence with a variety of stakeholders, demonstrate an aptitude for concise and clear communication and be driven to achieve consistent high performance.
  • Being involved in project close out procedures including testing, commissioning and financial with appropriate deliverable like Preventive Maintenance schedule, spare parts list, Inventory control, AS-Built drawings and MDR.
  • Accountable for engineering input and updating KCGM relevant standards, procedures, work instruction and control systems (Isolation) to ensure critical controls exist and effective.

About you:

  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering, providing eligibility for membership of Engineers Australia.
  • Minimum 5 years of practical experience in a project management and engineering role within the resources sector.
  • Proficiency in reading mechanical and civil/structural drawings and report writing skills.
  • Advanced level competency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project
  • Preferred project management qualification

Maintenance Engineer

The Role:

In this residential position you will be responsible for providing technical and engineering support to the Fimiston and Gidji Plants in ensuring that all assets are maintained in accordance with all necessary maintenance standards and processes aimed at delivering the required level of quality whilst optimising downtime, cost and equipment life.

Essential requirements:

  • Minimum five (5) years engineering support  experience preferably in a heavy industrial environment
  • Experience in a gold or mineral processing environment

Reliability Engineer

The Role:

In this residential role, you will provide reliability engineering support in driving improvements in plant performance through optimising asset strategies and tactics, whilst undertaking a program of ongoing defect elimination.  This includes the support of informed decision-making based on reliability and availability information, through detailed analysis including undertaking failure investigations and establishing the root causes of failure.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical) or significant practical experience to an equivalent level
  • Strong understanding of reliability engineering principles and practices is essential
  • Minimum three (3) years field-based reliability experience
  • Experience in mineral processing environment or similar
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to diagnose problems and identify potential solutions by thinking outside of the box and delivering alternative options
  • Experience in conducting investigations through the application of a structured process such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA) in cross-functional team-based environments

Senior Shutdown Planner

The Role:

The Senior Shutdown Planner: Oversees the activities of the shutdown planners and ensures that all maintenance activities undertaken within the plant shutdowns are properly planned (resources, parts, equipment, tooling), sequenced and scheduled so that the work progresses in a safe, organised, timely and cost efficient manner.

Specific Accountabilities:

  • Proactively promote compliance to KCGM safety and environment policies
  • Initiate and manage the shutdown planning and preparation process
  • Ensure quality communications throughout the shutdown planning and execution process.
  • Ensure people are clear about their shutdown roles and responsibilities.
  • Monitor and manage Contractor performance to ensure intended work standards and expectations are met
  • Assist with the preparation of shutdown budgets
  • Liaise with other departments and external service providers to ensure cost effective management of shutdown resources
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of shutdown reports
  • Manage shutdown performance reporting and promote continuous improvement

Requirements:

  • Five (5) years practical experience in a maintenance environment, preferably in mining/minerals processing
  • Minimum of Two (2) years’ experience with computer-based maintenance planning and scheduling
  • Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical) or Trade qualification with relevant experience

Condition Monitoring Technician

The Role:

In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out condition monitoring assessments to establish health of designated fixed plant assets and provide information to key stakeholders so as to support informed decision making that improves maintenance planning optimisation, reduces unplanned failures, and optimises production capacity.

Requirements:

  • Trade engineering (mechanical) related qualification
  • Experience in a gold or other mineral processing environment
  • Minimum three (3) years field condition monitoring experience
  • Vibration Analysis certification to Category 3 under ISO 18436-2 or equivalent relevant experience
  • Ability to diagnose problems and identify potential solutions by thinking outside of the box delivering innovative outcomes
  • Additional Oil Analysis and Infrared thermography experience preferred
  • Knowledge of dye penetrant inspection, magnetic particle inspection, ultrasonic thickness inspection, and ultrasonic testing will be well regarded

Maintenance Scheduler

The Role:

The Maintenance Scheduler prepares the weekly schedule and ensures work packs are ready for the maintenance team to carry out all planned tasks.  This role is responsible for scheduling maintenance work as prepared by the planner, communicating the weekly schedule and identifying routine activities and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Trade Certificate (Mechanical or Electrical)
  • Minimum of five (5) years in the mining or heavy industry with strong working knowledge of Fixed Plant Maintenance Scheduling and CMMS with minimum of two (2) years in a similar role
  • Experience using Oracle EAM and Viziya Scheduling tools
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose problems and identify potential solutions by thinking outside of the box to deliver alternative outcomes
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills enabling liaison at all levels of the organisation
  • Experience in maintaining data integrity in the CMMS

Mine Geologist - Underground

The Role:

Working a family friendly 5:2 roster, this position is responsible to deliver the maximum ore grade to the Mineral Processing Plant, through accurate identification of mineralisation, optimal ore classification and supervision of extraction (to minimise dilution).

  • Tertiary qualification in Geology or a related discipline

The role:

An opportunity exists to join the Mining Team in the position of Voids Technician. This technical support role involves working as part of a team to identify void areas to ensure that the hazards associated with remnant mining are managed and work is completed in safe manner.

Systems Administrator

The Role:

This role will see you responsible for providing the technical maintenance and support required to achieve high availability, maximum effectiveness, strong security and robust recovery of KCGM’s primary and secondary infrastructure systems and support Service Desk staff in the delivery of high quality incident and request resolution services.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring, maintaining and expanding KCGM’s internal network, servers, desktops, VOIP systems, UPSs and related infrastructure;
  • Planning, upgrading and deploying new software as required by the business;
  • Managing, maintaining and testing of data backup procedures and disaster recovery plans;
  • Documenting issues and resolutions;
  • Providing end user support for multiple business units;
  • Proactive in suggesting improvements to IT systems.

Essential Requirements:

  • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience within a similar role;

Experienced Shovel Operators

The Role:

Working an even-time continuous 7/7 roster, you will be responsible for effectively and safely operating a Komatsu PC8000 shovel, as well as other mobile plant as directed, to ensure targets outlined in the Open Pit mining schedule are achieved.

Requirements:

  • Minimum five (5) years all round open pit ancillary operating experience
  • Minimum two (2) years shovel (five hundred (500) tonnes) operating experience, for example, Komatsu PC8000

KCGM is currently seeking an Experienced Ancillary Operator, working an even-time continuous 7/7 roster. This position supports Shovel Operations in the Open Pit to establish easy access and good housekeeping of all areas as the shift occurs.

The Role:

Working a family-friendly roster, you will be responsible for undertaking preventative and breakdown maintenance of the underground mobile plant fleet to ensure maximum availability for production.

Essential requirements: 

  • Relevant Trade Qualifications
  • Post Trade experience in heavy duty fitting, preferably within an Underground Mining environment
  • Excellent planning, time management and organisational skills
  • National Police Clearance (valid within the last 12 months)
  • Current unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Drivers Licence.

Bogger Operator

The Role:

A unique opportunity now exists to join the underground team at Mt Charlotte. In this role you will be responsible for operating load and haul vehicles of the underground production fleet in a safe and efficient manner and assist with other underground work where required and qualified to ensure targets outlined in the underground mining schedule are achieved.

 Essential requirements:

  • Minimum of two (2) years underground production experience, with demonstrated experience in bogging development headings and clean ups
  • Experience in underground decline road maintenance and grading will be looked upon favourably
  • Current Dangerous Goods Security Card
  • Current tickets of competency for underground machinery and equipment; Bogger, Integrated Tool Carrier, and Truck desirable
  • National Police Clearance (valid within the last 12 months)
  • A Current Unencumbered Western Australian “C” Class Licence.

The Role:

  • Previous experience working underground including Service Crew duties

Underground Truck Operator

KCGM are looking for experienced Process Technicians to join our Mineral Processing team. Working a 4/4 roster, this position will see you monitoring and maintaining assigned operations and equipment within the Mineral Processing Plant to optimise circuit availability and gold recovery.
